Hey, guys! Today I've got a color from Zoya's NYNH mystery trio to share with you. There was some controversy surrounding these colors when people saw them earlier this year. Click through to read more and see the rest of the swatches!
These swatches show two coats of Zoya Severine. It's described as a
warm pewter, but it strikes me as more of an antiqued gold. It goes on
smoothly, and was nearly opaque in one coat, but it is pretty brush stroke-y. The colors in the mystery trio were originally created for a fashion week collection last year.
Since they weren't technically brand new, a lot of people were upset
over the promotional wording, which had initially appeared as
"brand new" and was later changed to "exclusive." And even though they
had never been available for sale before (and would not be in the future), some still took issue with the
word "exclusive," as they had been given out at the fashion week event.
Zoya
cited the wording as an error in their marketing department, and that
the "brand new" wording had been intended for another promotion later in
the year. They apologized for the confusion, and offered a coupon code for a free satin
for all customers who participated in the promotion. I was unable to
use the coupon code, as I had started my no-buy by then, but that's
okay with me. I thought Zoya handled the situation well, and I loved the promotion. I mean, I basically got twelve zoyas at half price, and
two free mystery trios, so I'm not going to complain. If you missed out on the promotion, the other trio is going to be a prize in an upcoming giveaway I'm hosting, so keep your eyes peeled for more information!
